Helicopter recovers cars swept away by flash floods

The Great Ocean Road has reopened between Lorne and Skenes Creek after a helicopter operation to recover cars swept out during flash flooding.

The Victoria SES has confirmed the retrieved vehicles were moved to the car park.

12 vehicles were recovered in Cumberland River while two were picked up in Wye River.

The SES and Department of Transport and Planning have thanked the community for following exclusion zones and traffic directions while the operation took place.
