Henderson criticises demotion

Sarah Henderson says she was left disappointed after being left off the front bench by new Liberal leader Sussan Ley.

The Geelong senator yesterday dumped from shadow cabinet, losing her education and communications roles.

Henderson saying she was disappointed that several high performing women had been left out of cabinet.

“While I am very disappointed not to be reappointed to shadow cabinet or included in the ministry, I remain deeply committed to serving the people of Victoria in the Australian Senate,” she said.

“I regret that a number of high performing Liberal women have been overlooked or demoted in the new ministry.

“Today, I am more determined than ever to fight for Australian women which must start with a comprehensive policy platform.”

Member for Wannon Dan Tehan has been handed the energy portflio.
