An inmate has been stabbed at Lara’s Western Plains Correctional Centre.
Emergency services were called to the local maximum-security facility just after 9am.
It’s believed one detainee stabbed another, the victim not requiring hospitalisation.

Police are investigating the exact circumstances of the incident.
It’s the third incident at the prison this week.
