It is just four weeks until Avalon Airport turns international again.
Jetstar is preparing to fly out to Bali from the local airport from March 23.
Tracy Carter from Tourism Great Geelong & The Bellarine said it was good news for the region,.
“Bali’s more of an outbound destination really, but it’s just fantastic to have the international terminal operational again, and the opportunities that hopefully will flow from that point forward,” she said.
Ms Carter believed other airlines would be looking at the Jetstar flights next month.
“Just getting it operational again is step one, and from there we would hope to see more of an inbound destination fleet.
“So that’s certainly the plan.”
Jetstar will also be increasing its domestic flights from late March, including Adelaide from the local airport.
