Leisurelink has closed its pools today for a deep clean.
Geelong council has been notified three people with cases of Cryptosporidium had visited the centre in Waurn Ponds in recent weeks.
Crypto is a waterborne parasite which can cause gastro.
Leisurelink has taken to social media to say the pools will be undergoing a hyperchlorination process.
It is hoping the chlorine levels will return to safe levels for swimming to be reopened on Saturday.
The local centre says the process is a precautionary measure for community safety.
The rest of Leisurelink’s facilities including the gym will remain open today.
Other council-managed swimming centres are open today.
