The Liberal Party has officially announced its candidate for the seat of Corangamite ahead of the next federal election.

Former SAS soldier Darcy Dunstan will be representing the party, although there is no word at this stage when the election will be held.

The local runs his own business after leaving the Defence Force and said he wanted to serve his community.

“My commitment is simple. If I am elected, I will listen, I will work hard and I will focus on what matters most to you,” he said.

“The people of Corangamite are hurting while the cost-of-living continues to increase.

“If elected, I will work every day to deliver real cost-of-living relief and make home ownership a reality for all.”

The seat is currently held by Labor’s Libby Coker, who has held it since 2019.
