Local suburbs set for housing boom

Several local suburbs could face a housing boom over the next year.

The winter Price Predictor Index from company Hotspotting shows areas such as Leopold, Torquay and St Leonards are in for a price boom.

The forecast is based on sales over the last four or more quarters and the fact the areas are close to Melbourne.

However, the company warns the boom could be impacted if there are policy changes or extra costs hit investors or construction of properties.
