A Geelong woman admits she thought she had been scammed when told she had won almost $5 million.
The local took out The Lott’s Set for Life draw on the weekend.
The $4.8 million prize is paid in monthly installments over the next 20 years.
The long-time player said she wondered if the news was true after missing several calls from lottery officials.
“I listened back to the voicemail you had left when I missed your calls and I started to frantically look for the ticket to see if it was true,” she said.
“I couldn’t believe it was me that had won. You always hope you’ll win division one but never expect for it to happen.
“I wondered if it was a hoax or a scam.
“There was a lot of thoughts going through my head.”
The ticket was bought at Geelong Lotto in Westfield Geelong.
