A man has been arrested following an incident in Geelong’s CBD.
Police were called to reports of a man holding an implement in Westfield Geelong on Monday morning, finding he had outstanding warrants.
The 26-year-old was arrested, interviewed for theft and bailed to face the Geelong Magistrates’ Court at a later date.
Police say the man was holding a pointed garden implement, which was discarded.
Senior Sergeant Aaron Riches said officers were continuing to patrol the CBD.
“We’re working really hard with Westfield security, Market Square security on making sure that our community’s safe,” he said.
“We respond quickly.”
