Man charged over car damage

A man has been charged after a number of cars were damaged on Wednesday morning, including four police cars.

The 65-year-old Geelong West man is alleged to have attended Trainshed Way about 4am and ripped the rear wipers off the police cars, as well as damaging at least seven other cars.

A number of enquiries were made by police, and an off-duty officer arrested a 65-year-old man from Geelong West in Mercer Street about 2.50pm.

He’s been charged with 11 counts of criminal damage and will face the Geelong Magistrates Court tomorrow.
