A man has been charged over a five-vehicle collision north of Ararat that claimed the lives of three people and left two Geelong locals injured.
It’s alleged two cars, a B-double and two smaller trucks collided in Armstrong on 28 May 2025, with emergency services called to the intersection of the Western Highway and Thomas Road around 12.30pm.
The 49-year-old Lyndhurst man behind the wheel of an Isuzu van and his 24-year-old passenger, a Clyde North woman, died at the scene.
A 65-year-old South Australian man driving a Toyota Kluger also died at the scene.
Three people were transported to hospital, including an 83-year-old Geelong woman and a 52-year-old Corio man.
The third, a 63-year-old Horsham man, has been charged on Wednesday with three counts of dangerous driving causing death.
He was bailed, set to appear at the Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on 16 March.
