Man charged over Grovedale assault

A bouncer accused of assaulting a patron at a Grovedale pub has been charged.

Emergency services were called to the Torquay Road business around 11.30pm on May 3, to reports of an alleged assault.

A 37-year-old man from Grovedale was taken to the Alfred Hospital with serious injuries.

It is understood he spent three days in intensive care.

Police say a 46-year-old from Armstrong Creek has been charged with recklessly causing serious injury, recklessly cause injury and unlawful assault.

He has been bailed to face court on July 3.
