Man charged over Marshall hit and run

Charges have now been laid over a hit and run in Marshall last month.

Police had been searching for the driver of a red Holden Commodore sedan that collided with a silver Mazda hatch on Barwarre Road around 6.15pm on 17 July.

The male driver of the Commodore is alleged to have dumped the car and taken off on foot.

The person driving the Mazda, a 42-year-old Armstrong Creek woman, was airlifted to hospital with life threatening injuries.

Two passengers in the Commodore were also taken to hospital with minor injuries.

Police confirmed that a 23-year-old Whittington man was arrested in connection to the incident yesterday.

The man has been charged with dangerous driving causing serious injury and fail to assist in a serious injury collision and will face Geelong Magistrates’ Court later today.
