A man has died after becoming unresponsive during an arrest in a Hoppers Crossing carpark earlier this month.
The 35-year-old man became unresponsive during his arrest outside a convenience store at the corner of Heaths and Tarneit Roads on July 15.
Police performed CPR before he was taken to hospital where he has since passed away.
A male sergeant and a male constable, both from North West Metro Region, have been suspended while the investigation is carried out by the Homicide Squad.
Police say the Professional Standards Command will have oversight on the investigation, as per standard practice when a person is seriously injured or dies while in custody.
