A man is recovering after being bitten by a snake on the Surf Coast.
Paramedics were called to The Sands Torquay on Saturday morning to reports the man in his 30s was bitten on the ankle.
Ambulance Victoria says the man was taken to hospital in a stable condition.

It is not known what type of snake bit the man.
