A manhunt is underway in Wyndham following a fatal stabbing in the suburb of Wyndham Vale.
A 21-year-old man died following a confrontation between two groups on in Butler Grove on Friday night.
Neighbours said they became concerned after hearing shouting and yelling on the street just before 10pm.
The victim, who was from Wyndham Vale, was found lying unconscious on the ground a short time later,– with a baseball bat on the ground close by.
He died at the scene.
Police believe the groups involved in the altercation are known to each other.
By Saturday a makeshift memorial had been set up at the scene with flowers, beer and a bottle of Jack Daniels left in honour of the dead man.
Friday’s incident is the latest in a series of violent incidents in the suburb, including the fatal shooting of two men at a home on Carmichael Drive in February.
