Local police are continuing to have a heavy presence on our roads on the final day of Operation Arid.
Officers have been out in force to keep roads safe across Geelong and the Bellarine this long weekend, posting to local Eyewatch pages to say they’re not impressed by what they’ve seen.
A 50-year-old man was allegedly detected drink driving at a Preliminary Testing Site in Portarlington, with a reading of 0.132.
His vehicle was impounded for 30 days at a cost of $1305, his license was suspended immediately, and he’ll face court at a later date.
Later, police detected a motorcyclist allegedly travelling 108 km/h in a 70 km/h zone along Melbourne Rd, North Geelong.
The 40-year-old didn’t hold a motorbike license and reportedly returned a positive drug test.
The Harley Davidson was impounded for 30 days at a cost of $1,247, and he will attend court at a later date.
