A new hub providing a safe space for young LGBTIQA+ locals has opened in Geelong’s CBD.

QHub Geelong has been co-designed with local people, aimed at increasing inclusion and improving mental wellbeing for Victorians up to the age of 25.

The refurbished site is the second QHub to open in the state following Ballarat’s facility in 2023.

Minister for Equality Harriet Shing said it would give LGBTIQA+ locals the safe space they need and deserve.

“Young members of our rainbow communities and their families in regional areas deserve to have access to the best LGBTIQA+ supports and opportunities,” Ms Shing said.

“This new safe space in Geelong is about creating just that.”
