Signs at a Surf Coast nude beach directing people to where they can legally strip off have been placed in the wrong spot.
The Great Ocean Road Coast & Parks Authority (GORCAPA) says it’s discovered the mistake at Pt Impossible and the signs will need to be re-aligned.
The authority says inaccuracies between signage and maps on the ground came through a public enquiry, and both will be update by late January next year.
“We are working with Traditional Owners and the Australian Naturist Federation collaboratively to ensure the signs are re-aligned to the correct area,” GORCAPA states on its website.
“This will not impact cultural and environmental values and the visitor experience.
Parts of the beach were first gazetted as ‘clothing optional’ in 1983, and the authority says it will remain so.
A Have Your Say page has been setup to consider public feedback on the area, with the survey open until January 14, 2024.
