Police continue to heavily patrol major roads across the region, amid a concerning rise in road trauma.
More than 15 offences were picked up in Geelong during the latest Operation West Connect, including two drug drivers.
Fifteen motorists were also detected speeding.
Sadly, a 43-year-old mother died in hospital following a hit-run collision in Corio earlier this month.
Inspector Justine Ryan said July was a terrible time on the roads in Victoria’s west, with 13 lives lost, and another four in August.
“Operation West Connect is an ongoing effort to help drive down the high levels of road trauma we’re experiencing, with police on the look out for any driving behaviour that puts road users at risk,” Insp Ryan said.
“It’s imperative that everyone is mindful of how their actions behind the wheel can contribute to making our roads safer – it’s up to all of us to prioritise road safety.”
