A payrise is on the way for the mayors and councillors of the Cities of Greater Geelong and Wyndham.
The Victorian Independent Remuneration Tribunal has approved a three percent increase in their base allowances.
The increased based on factors including council revenue and population.

It means an increase in the salary of 28 mayors across the state.
