A has died after the boat he was travelling in was hit by a wave and capsized at Barwon Heads.
The yet to be identified male was with a Moriac man in his 60’s when they were thrown into the water near the Barwon River mouth around 06:50am.
Surf Lifesavers managed to pull the now-deceased man to shore, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police say the man who died was trapped under the boat. His companion was pulled from the water and taken to Geelong Hospital in a stable condition.
A report will be prepared for the coroner, as police investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.
