Police try to identify woman struck by car

Police are trying to identify a woman who was struck by a car in Truganina.

Emergency services were called to Leakes Road just after 4.30am Wednesday to reports a pedestrian had been struck by a white-coloured vehicle.

The woman suffered life-threatening injuries and remains in hospital.

She is yet to be identified, and is described as being African in appearance, around 166cm tall with a scar on her forehead and burn scars n her right leg.

She was wearng a black puffer jacket, pants and pink platform sneakers at the time.

The woman also had a notebook on her at the time and detectives have released an image, hoping someone may recognise it.

The female driver of the vehicle was not hurt and stopped at the scene.

She has been helping detectives with their enquiries.

Police believe several cars drove past the scene, hoping someone will have dashcam footage.
