Homicide detectives have travelled from Melbourne and are now at the Buckley property, which sits among homesteads in the small town that has a population of around 200.

Members of the police Viper Taskforce, which targets organised crime, are also on scene.

Police confirmed to Geelong Broadcasters that they believe the home in Pt Cook may be linked to the woman’s death.

The neat suburban home, in a recently-developed area on Point Cook’s southern edge, is surrounded by police tape. Two officers in a divisional van are guarding the property.
