While Telstra has delayed shutting down their 3G network, Queenscliffe has received a boost to its 4G services.
Telstra says their network has been boosted in the area, and now needs locals on 3G devices to upgrade to a 4G device.
“When we announced the shutdown of our 3G network, we committed to expanding 4G to match the existing 3G footprint,” general manager for Western and Northern Victoria Steve Tinker said.

“Now local upgrade work has been completed and our testing shows equivalent coverage is there, the final step is making sure customers aren’t using 3G devices.”
The 3G signal was due to be switched off on June 30, but has been moved to August 31.
