A Geelong woman has narrowly avoided jail after returning a blood alcohol reading almost double the legal limit – eight days after her driver’s licence was suspended.
The 50-year-old blew 0.097 during an evidentiary test at Geelong Police Station on April 29, according to a report in the Geelong Advertiser.
The paper says the woman was caught as she drove along Gheringhap Street, eight days after her licence was cancelled for six months.
Just over four weeks later the woman was again stopped by police in Geelong, where she tested positive dor the drug ice.
The Geelong Advertiser reports the woman had three previous drink-drive convictions dating back to 2018.
She was fined $2000 and is disqualified from driving until early 2025.
