Some major road works are headed to Greater Geelong.
The state government has launched the Better Roads Blitz, backed by a record $976 million dollar investment.
Member for Lara Ella George said 70% of the funding is dedicated to regional road upgrades, including works in our region.
“Across the Geelong region, this includes the Princes Highway West, the Surfcoast Highway, the Midland Highway and the Bellarine Highway,” the local MP said.
“Whether you’re using our locals roads to get to works or school, or to get home, or they’re transporting the food that ends up in your fridge, our roads play a huge role in the life of every single Victorian.”
“That’s exactly why we’re investing almost a billion dollars into repairing our roads.”
Ms George said the projects are commencing across the state.
“Between now and mid-2026 these works will be completed,” she said.
“For more information about roads that will be closed, visit the transport.vic.gov.au website. There’s heaps of information online about different road projects and timeframes for when road maintenance is taking place.”
