Locals and visitors to Geelong will be spoilt for choice as the city heads into another bumper weekend of events.
Global music superstar Robbie Williams is the headline act with Saturday night’s A Day On The Green performance at arguably the Surf Coast’s most spectacular venue, Mount Duneed Estate.
The annual Queenscliff Music Festival, which kicked off on Thursday night, will move into top gear on Friday with artists including Something For Kate.
Saturday will feature performances by Cold Chisel guitarist/singer Ian Moss, and kids’ favourite Bananas in Pyjamas.
Boy and Bear and the Sweethearts are among the acts that will wrap up the event on Sunday.
Car fans will also be well and truly catered for with the Geelong Revival Motoring Festival revving into life from 5pm Friday, commencing with Sunset in the Park in the Waterfront’s Herne Pde carpark.
The action steps up a notch or three on Saturday and Sunday with Shannon’s Classic Motorshow, Motorcycle Mecca, stunt shows and supercars.
The RAAF 100 Squadron will perform flyovers at 10am and 2pm on both days, with the popular quarter-mile sprints running all day from 10am.
Geelong Beach Volleyball Fest, featuring some of the world’s elite players, continues at Rippleside Beach. The event kicked off last Friday and will wind up on Sunday.
Visitors will also have the chance to find out why Geelong has been dubbed ‘Australia’s Christmas Capital’ with the Catenary Lights, Town Hall Christmas Projections and the nightly Floating Christmas Tree display running each night.
All up the events are expected to attract more than 80,000 visitors to Geelong over the three days.
