A local council has kicked off its soft plastics collection trial.
Surf Coast Shire residents are being asked to bag up any soft plastic packaging, ready to be dropped off in designated bins next month.
Soft plastics can not go into the recycling bin, and can include plastic bags, bread bags, bubble wrap and chip packets.

Once collected, the council says the plastics will be baled and delivered to Melbourne recycling businesses to be converted into other soft plastics and recycled road products.
