Phoebe Crockett has been elected to the Surf Coast Shire Council, taking on the role in the Torquay ward.
The Greens candidate topped votes in the second countback on Wednesday 5 November, with her election confirmed on Thursday morning.
It follows an initial countback which saw Eric Menogue receive the highest number of votes, but he wasn’t elected after failing to return his written declaration within the 48 hour timeframe.

The search sparked by the resignation of Rebecca Bourke in September.
