Several local clubs are among hundreds to share in TAC funding to promote road safety.
The Transport Accident Commission’s announced the recipients of the TAC Club Rewards Program in partnership with AFL Victoria.
TAC CEO Tracey Slatter said football and netballer players are regularly on the road.
“Footballers and netballers often travel long distances for games and training,” she said
By making road safety a priority, these clubs are protecting their members and setting a powerful example.
“The TAC Club Rewards Program is part of the TAC’s 33-year partnership with AFL Victoria, which aims to empower clubs to develop a culture where all players and members are expected to be safe on the roads.”
Armstrong Creek, Bannockburn, Grovedale, Torquay, Werribee Centrals and Corio are among those to receive money to encourage members and the wider community to be safe on roads across the region.
