Teen faces court over hit-run

A Corio teenager has faced court charged in relation to a hit-run collision.

A 43-year-old woman was flown to hospital after allegedly being struck by a car on Plantation Road Sunday morning.

The Geelong Magistrates’ Court heard the woman was struck on the wrong side of the road, and landed in a gutter around 25 metres away, according to a report in the Geelong Advertiser.

The court was told the car was found dumped several hundred metres away.

Police allege the driver of the vehicle left the scene before they arrived, but an 18-year-old turned himself into officers late Sunday afternoon.

He has been charged with offences including dangerous driving causing serious injury, and driving while suspended

The teenager was granted bail with the matter adjourned until December 3.
