A teenage boy is dead after the crash of an allegedly stolen car in Hoppers Crossing early this morning.
It was chasing another vehicle in an apparent attempted car-jacking just after midnight.
“It is alleged a stolen grey Skoda sedan was pursing another vehicle, in what appears to be an attempted carjacking along Derrimut Road just after 12am,” police saiod in a statement.
“The Skoda collided with the rear of that vehicle, a Toyota sedan which managed to safely flee the scene.”
It then collided with two Ford cars on Derrimut Road, before rolling several times, killing the 16 year old and leaving three others injured.
“A 17-year-old boy and a 16-year-old girl both from the Wyndham area were taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries under police guard,” the statement continued.
“A 16-year-old girl from the Wyndham area was arrested and taken to hospital with minor injuries, she has since been released from hospital and is expected to be interviewed later this morning.”
The occupants of the Toyota and Ford were uninjured.
Derrimut Road between Hogans and Heaths roads are expected to be closed to both north and south bound traffic until later today.
