Two teenage boys have been arrested after multiple callers to Triple Zero reported dangerous motorbike and e-bike riding in the Geelong CBD.
Local police received reports of teens menacing the public across Monday and Tuesday, attending several addresses and seizing bikes Senior Sergeant Aaron Riches said can only be described as “death trap wrecks on two wheels”.
The boys, both aged 14, will face the Children’s Court at a later date for charges including dangerous driving and conduct endangering life.
“We know our community want us to address this increasingly dangerous theme. To do that we need information – we need the neighbours of these offenders, that see these people leave their houses at all hours, generally in black clothing and riding with the single intention of endangering other road users,” Senior Sergeant Riches said.
“This cohort place other road users and the elderly on footpaths at risk of injury – this is not okay.”
