Tehan out as leader vote draws closer

Dan Tehan will not feature in tomorrow’s Liberal leadership decision.

After being mentioned among the front runners for the leadership in the aftermath of the Liberals stunning result at the election, the Wannon MP confirmed he wouldn’t run for the position.

Tehan saying in a statement he would not run.

“The Australian people want a Liberal Party that speaks to their lives, their families and their hopes for the future,” he said.

“They want small business and farmers to thrive. We must create a political movement that can provide that vision.

“I will work hard and serve in whatever capacity I am asked to rebuild our party.”

The leadership now set to come down to Angus Taylor and Sussan Ley.
