Tennis academy announced for Modewarre

Work will start this year on a new tennis academy in Modewarre, which is being touted as the biggest in the southern hemisphere.

Renowned French coach Patrick Mouratoglou is behind the Academy, building the branch as part of the Cape Otway Australia Development.

The complex will boast 48 tennis courts, swimming facilities and gym.

It is scheduled to open in 2026.

Mouratoglou, who has coached Serena Williams, has centres across the world, including in Dubai, New York and Malaysia.

He said it was a big move for the brand.

“We have always loved Australia, a genuine tennis nation,” Mouratoglou said.

“This partnership is an exciting development for the region, providing educational and career opportunities for young students as well as athletes.”
