A total fire ban remains in place across Victoria as thousands of firefighters continue to battle hundreds of blazes.
A Watch and Act message for for Bamganie and Meredith for the grassfire at Mt Mercer has been downgraded to an Advice message.
The CFA says crews have managed to stop the spread of the fire, but it is not yet under control.
It says firefighters are working to consolidate control lines and put out any active fire spots.
Locals are still being urged to monitor the conditions and plan for any changes in the situation.
Fires in the Otways forced the Great Ocean Road to be closed between Apollo Bay and Lavers Hill.
However that has reopened this morning.
An emergency warning remains for the fire at Carlisle River, while there is an advice message for towns including Forrest, Gellibrand and Birregurra.
A watch and act is in place at Cape Otway, with the CFA saying it is not safe to return.
The Great Ocean Walk in the area has been closed for public safety.
An advice for air quality is in place, with locals across Geelong able to smell smoke from the nearby fires.
A state of disaster is in place covering local government areas including the Golden Plains Shire and Colac Otway.
State and federal hardship payments are now available for those impacted by the flames.
While the weather has cooled, authorities are still urging people to monitor the VicEmergency app and follow emergency directions.
