A woman and her son have been arrested, after allegedly driving from Ballarat to steal from a Geelong shopping centre on Wednesday afternoon.
Geelong police officers were called to Westfield on Moorabool St around 1pm, when the pair fled the centre after stealing a number of items from various stores inside.
Two officers arrested the 24-year-old man and 52-year-old woman at the intersection of Malop and Moorabool St as they were trying to leave the CBD.
Both have been charged with theft and were bailed, while they have also been banned from entering Westfield for 12 months.
“As a Police Service we continue to prioritise our City and the safety of those attending our shopping centres – this includes suburban shopping strips,” Senior Sergeant Aaron Riches said.
