A busy night for fire crews in Geelong’s northern suburbs, with three fires handed to police for investigation.
FRV were called to a house fire on Sparks Road, Norlane just before 10:30pm on Thursday, arriving on scene within four minutes to find smoke and flames issuing from a house.
A primary search confirmed nobody was inside, the incident deemed Under Control at 10:41pm.
The incident has been deemed suspicious.
Just an hour later, FRV responded to reports of a fire on a nature strip on the Princes Highway in Corio and arrived to find items left outside a vacant property alight.
They were called to the scene at 11:36pm, with a stop issued 10 minutes later.
The scene was again handed to police for investigation.
Crews were later called to Norlane again, this time to Rose Avenue, to a house fire at a 5m x 10m single-storey weatherboard dwelling.
Called in just after 4:20am, firefighters were on scene within six minutes, working to extinguish the flames and make the scene safe before leaving it in the hands of investigators.
