There has been a major emergency response on the Bellarine Peninsula on Friday morning, after a helicopter carrying three people crashed off Point Lonsdale.
It’s believed the chopper was seen crashing into water off Fellows Road just after 10am, with all three on board managing to make it to shore, where they located by passersby.
A male and female passenger have since been flown to hospital with serious injuries, and another male passenger has been taken by road to hospital also with serious injuries.
The exact circumstances surrounding the incident are yet to be determined at this stage. The Australian Transport Safety Bureau will investigate the crash with assistance from police.
