Road users in Geelong and the Bellarine are asked to take care on the roads as thousands of bike riders take on Around the Bay on Sunday.

The country’s biggest bike ride will see up to 10,000 cyclists circle Port Phillip Bay for seven different events; Family Ride, 50km, 100km, 135km, 200km, the classic 220km loop and 300km ride distances.

Geelong’s Cunningham Pier will be the starting point for the 135km bike ride, with no parking available Sunday morning, while Western Beach Road has been closed off.

The Princes Fwy between Little River Rd. to the North Shore exit will also see the speed limit reduced and the left hand lane closed for most of the morning.

All other rides will start and finish at Albert Park Lake with riders will be on roads from 5:00am until 7:00pm.

At times there will be road closures, speed reductions, the presence of traffic controllers and police.
