A 22-year-old Truganina man is in police custody after a pursuit across Melbourne’s south and north eastern suburbs early this morning.
An allegedly stolen vehicle tracked from Brighton to Maribrynong, where the driver ran off.
“The driver dumped the vehicle in the carpark of a Maribyrnong business on Rosamund Road and fled on foot about 12.40am,” police said in a statement.
“As the man was running from the scene, he allegedly threw a bag into bushes on a vacant block.
“Police were hot on his trail and safely took the 22-year-old into custody.
“The dog squad was then put on the case, with the canine soon sniffing out and locating the dumped bag.”
