Two charged over assault on tradies in Lara

Two men have been charged after an alleged home invasion and assault in Lara.

It’s alleged five male offenders approached two male tradies working at a Sparrowhawk Avenue property on Monday 13 April, entering the building and assaulting the pair with weapons after a confrontation.

The men, aged 35 and 36, were hospitalised with serious but non-life-threatening injuries, while the offenders fled the scene.

After executing search warrants in Hoppers Crossing on Tuesday morning, police arrested and interviewed a 34-year-old man and a 44-year-old man.

They were charged with offences including aggravated home invasion and intentionally causing serious injury in circumstances of gross violence.

Detectives believe three offenders are still yet to be located, with the investigation ongoing.
