Local councils are dealing with a rise in tyres being illegally dumped.
The City of Wyndham says it collects up to 500 tyres a month, mostly in rural areas.
Geelong has also had issues in the past, with discarded tyres found in areas across Corio Bay, including Moolap.
The Conservation Regulator and Parks Victoria have recorded at least 60 dumping incidents of tyres on public land during 2023.
Personal and commercial tyres were dumped in those incidents, with authorities believing more may have been dumped or burned.
Businesses are being warned they face serious consequences if found to be illegally disposing of the rubbish.
