Winchelsea’s redeveloped 25-metre outdoor pool is starting to take shape, with Surf Coast Shire Council providing an update on the $4.3 million project.
The old pool which was at the Barwon Terrace site for around 60-years was demolished earlier this year, with the redevelopment starting in March.
Contractors have driven pile foundations and poured concrete to form the new pools during the past couple of weeks, forming the shape of the new 25-metre and leisure pools.
Council says contractors salvaged almost 96 per cent of materials from demolition of the previous pool for recycled use off-site.
Construction of a new pavilion and plant room has started and the entire project is scheduled for completion during this summer.
