V/Line services still suspended following Telstra outage

V/Line services remain suspended on the Geelong line, following a major Telstra outage across Australia.

Locals were unable to catch trains on Wednesday morning following the outage.

The rail authority provided an update just before 5pm, saying all services will be impacted on Wednesday evening and Thursday morning.

Passengers are being advised to defer travel where possible.

Thousands across Australia were also unable to make call or send messages.

The Telco says that has since been restored, with an investigation underway into how it happened.

However, Telstra does not believe it was a malicious attack on the network.
