A severe weather warning has been issued for heavy rain in areas including the Geelong region.
The Bureau of Meteorology says a cold front is due to cross Victoria, bringing thunderstorms across the state’s west this morning.
Heavy rain and flash flooding are forecast to hit areas of the Central district later today, which takes in Geelong and the Surf Coast.

Gusts of up to 90km/h are also expected before easing on Tuesday morning.
It will be a warm one for Geelong today, with a top of 28 before late rain.
Temperatures will drop to 19 on Tuesday and 18 on Wednesday.
