An woman in her 80’s is fighting for life in hospital after a three-vehicle crash in Geelong’s CBD on Saturday morning, with reports one car ran a red light.
The woman was a passenger in a car that was involved in the collision at the corner of Bellerine Street and Eastern Beach Road around 11am.
The crash involved two cars and a truck, with a male driver of the same car the woman was in also injured and taken to hospital.
Both had to be cut from the vehicle after reportedly being trapped for a long period of time.
The driver of the truck and driver of the other car involved weren’t injured.
Police had the area closed throughout most of Saturday afternoon.
Detectives are following up reports one of the vehicles may have driven through a red light just prior to the collision.
