AFL Barwon to conceal MRP findings

Local football’s governing body says it’s following a recommendation from AFL Victoria not to publish outcomes from its match review panel.

In a statement released to local media this (Monday) afternoon, AFL Barwon confirmed its decision, which covers all leagues in Geelong, including the GDFNL.

“For the remainder of the 2026 season, AFL Barwon will not be providing summaries or publicly distributing MRP outcomes,” the statement said.

“We will only publish the final outcomes of tribunal cases involving senior-aged players on our website.

“This change aligns with recommendations from AFL Victoria and is consistent with the approach adopted across other regions in the state.

MRP findings were published either on Monday or Tuesday in recent years, with the most recent on June 15, featuring the six-match suspension handed to North Shore coach Mark Hounslow.

However, that was removed the following day.

Findings from previous weeks are no longer on the front page of AFL Barwon’s website, but they can still be located.
