BEST-and-fairest winner Ryan Williams has departed Anglesea for a coaching role with Colac and District league club Lorne.
The Dolphins confirmed they had signed the veteran, who also led the Roos goalkicking this year with 37 majors, on Facebook on Wednesday night.
An Anglesea junior, Williams returned to Ellimatta Reserve in 2017 after an impressive career that yielded two AFL games at Port Adelaide, three SANFL premierships with Centrals District and a GFNL flag at St Joseph’s.

He played 75 games, kicked 71 goals, and helped the Roos to the 2018 preliminary final during his five-season stint.
In better news for Anglesea, Jack Walters and Jack Rice will return to the club for the 2023 season.
A former Geelong Falcon, the cousin of Geelong superstar Patrick Dangerfield last played in 2021, where he made a single GFNL appearance with St Mary’s.
Rice, who has 77 senior games to his name, spent the 2022 season overseas.
Meanwhile, Newcomb captain Brenton Rees is set to join Winchelsea.
Multiple sources have told krockfootball.com.au that the former St Joseph’s, Werribee, and Geelong VFL midfielder has signed with the Geelong and District league club.
The loss of Rees, who won a second consecutive Ross Gibson Medal as the Power’s best-and-fairest in 2022, is a blow for newly-appointed coach Mitch Troy.
